Written for the goods you ship every week

A furniture importer loses money to cracked veneer; a coffee roaster loses it to heat on a rail siding; a clinic supplier loses it to a missing carton; a bike shop loses it to a van broken into overnight. Our sector programs start from those specifics and put them in plain terms.

Each trade breaks in its own way

A sectional sofa arrives with a torn arm after two hand-offs. A pallet of kombucha spends an afternoon in the sun at a river terminal. A case of sterile gloves is short-shipped, and nobody notices until the count; a carbon frame comes back from the courier in two pieces. Since our broker days in Copenhagen we have written cover around those failure points: the goods, the legs they ride, the hands they pass through, and the paperwork each trade needs at claim time.

The trades we write for

Two warehouse workers wrapping a pallet of flat-pack furniture in stretch film

Furniture & oversized goods

Sofas, dining sets, flat-pack wardrobes and mattresses travel in mixed loads and get handled at every hand-off. Scuffs, cracked panels, torn upholstery and a missing hardware carton are paid at full invoice value, the price of a replacement.

Courier carrying parcels to the door of a café on a tree-lined street

Food & beverage

Roasted coffee, wine, chilled dairy and frozen ready meals. Temperature excursions on the rail and river legs are named perils, and a short dwell at a transfer yard is not grounds to decline.

Two couriers loading a van outside a brick warehouse on the Portland waterfront on a sunny morning

Bicycles & sporting goods

Carbon frames, e-bike batteries, kayaks and ski sets are high in value and awkward to pack. They also get stolen. Cover pays retail value on theft from a parked van and on the dent that turns a frame into scrap.

Team sorting parcels on a conveyor in a distribution centre

Medical consumables

Gloves, syringes, dressings and test kits move on tight replenishment cycles. A short-shipped case is paid on the count, and cold-chain excursions are covered from the maker’s dock to the clinic storeroom.

Driver inspecting a semi-trailer at the depot in the early morning

River & rail legs

Barge down the Columbia, rail across the Rockies, a cross-dock in Denver, a truck for the last hundred miles. One policy covers every leg and every transfer crane, so a loss at the terminal does not become a dispute between the carriers’ liability limits.

Drivers carrying parcels to their vans in the yard at first light

Forwarders & 3PLs

Goods in your custody are your exposure. Cargo and legal-liability cover that stands behind the terms you sign with shippers, whether or not the owner bought a policy of their own.

Three habits, whatever the cargo

Every leg on one form

Parcel, LTL, full truck, rail car, river barge or container: the policy follows the goods, and changing a carrier does not change the cover.

Limits from your manifests

Per-shipment limits, annual aggregates, deductibles and margin uplift sized from a year of your manifests and your peak months, then stated in dollars on the front page.

97% closed within 30 days

One group writes the policy and pays the claim. You get a named handler and a short document list, and nobody outside the group touches the file.

Tell us your goods and your routes

Commodities, annual volume, the legs each shipment rides and any losses you have taken. An underwriter who knows your sector will reply with a program and a price, in terms you can read in one sitting.
