Cover that reads the way you ship

A sofa on a river barge, a pallet of coffee on a rail car, a carton of syringes in a parcel van, a crate of bike frames in a container: the goods change, the responsibility does not. Faktorik Group writes one policy for the whole route and answers for it as one company.

Cover for the whole invoice

A carrier’s liability is set by weight. A 40-kilo dining table and a 40-kilo box of bike frames are the same line on a carrier’s tariff, and a fraction of what either cost. Faktorik insures the goods at invoice value plus freight and duty, and states the figure on one page.

  • Invoice value plus freight and duty, with a fixed uplift for lost margin where you need it
  • Attaches when the goods leave your dock and stays on through the river barge, the rail yard, the cross-dock and the last van
  • Wet cartons, a pallet crushed under another, a carton missing from a sealed trailer, a scuffed veneer: each listed as covered on the schedule

Damage and loss, written plainly

Goods fail in ordinary ways. A flat-pack wardrobe rides a rail leg and arrives with a cracked panel. A pallet of cold brew warms during a four-hour dwell at a transfer yard. A bike frame leaves as one carton and reaches the shop as two; a case of gloves is short by twelve. Our wording starts from those cases. The claim form never has to argue with the policy.

  • All-risk by default; named-perils terms where a leaner policy suits the goods
  • Temperature excursions for chilled food and beverages and for medical consumables, including the rail and river legs
  • Concealed damage found on unpacking, reported within a stated window, paid without a debate over when it happened

Claims settled in-house

Ninety-seven percent of our claims are settled within 30 days. The same group that wrote the policy runs the claim, so nothing crosses a company boundary. A handler is assigned the day you call. Photos and the signed delivery note are enough to open most files, and payment does not wait for us to recover from the carrier.

  • 24/7 notification line, staffed by our own people in North America and Europe
  • Inspection at your dock or on the consignee’s floor within 48 hours where the value warrants it
  • Carrier recovery is our task; your settlement is never held while we pursue it

Group programs

Built around how each business moves goods

Most clients begin with a single transit policy. As volume grows, the same plain terms extend to storage, checkout, third-party liability and inbound components, still written and settled by the same group.

Forwarder open cover

Cover for every consignment you book for clients, with a certificate per shipment and a rate you can print on the quote next to the freight.

3PL & storage cover

Furniture on the rack, cases of wine in the chilled bay, a trailer parked in the yard overnight, a pallet waiting on the cross-dock: goods in your custody are insured whether or not the owner bought their own policy.

Stock in transit programs

One annual policy from the factory in Vietnam to the shelf in Ohio, covering every warehouse and every hand-off in between, so no leg falls into the gap between marine and property cover.

Checkout protection

Let customers add protection when they buy. A lost parcel or a crushed box is paid from our line, and your support team stops filing carrier claims.

Manufacturer turnover cover

Inbound components and outbound finished goods on a single annual policy, priced on your declared turnover. Report quarterly; no per-shipment declarations.

Oversized & multi-leg freight

Sectionals, hospital beds, gym equipment and machine tools that leave on a barge and finish on a truck, with a rail leg in between. We write the whole route on one form, including the crane transfer at the river terminal.

Why Faktorik

A broker’s habits, an insurer’s balance sheet

Started on the client’s side of the table

Faktorik began in 2007 as an insurance broker in Copenhagen, reading other people’s policies on behalf of clients. We still write ours the way we wished those had been written.

Terms you can read in one sitting

Limits are stated in dollars. Exclusions fit on one page. If a clause needs a lawyer to explain it, we rewrite the clause.

97% settled inside 30 days

Nearly every claim is closed within a month of the documents arriving. The rest have a named handler with a direct phone number.

No outside claims administrator

Underwriting, inspection, claims and carrier recovery sit inside the same group of companies. There is no outside administrator to point at when a file slows down.

21 offices, 160+ trade routes

Teams across North America and Europe who know the rail yards, river terminals, customs posts and cross-docks on the routes you use.

River, rail, road, sea and parcel

Whatever combination of legs a shipment takes, and whichever carrier runs each one, the same policy applies. Change carriers mid-year and nothing needs re-issuing.

Send us a month of shipments

Routes, modes, values and any losses you took. An underwriter will come back within two working days with a structure and an indicative rate, written in plain terms.
